JEE Mains and JEE Advanced exams are conducted for the admission in engineering courses, i.e. B.Tech. and B.E. courses in the premier institutes of the country including those in IITs, NITs, IIITs, government-funded GFTIs, and various state-level colleges. JEE Advanced Cut off is released every year by IITs which are the minimum marks that are required to qualify the JEE examination. The candidates who obtain marks greater than the minimum qualification marks are considered for the admission to various IITs. After releasing the JEE Advanced cut off 2020, JoSAA organizes counselling for the admission to the prestigious IITs. Those who qualify the minimum cut off are mentioned in the Common Rank List. JEE Advanced cut off 2020 will be different for categories, i.e. for General, OBC, SC or ST.

JEE Advanced 2020 examination will be conducted in two shifts on May 17th, 2020 and the result will be declared at the beginning of the month of June. Some Important Points Regarding JEE Advanced 2020 Cut Off

  • JoSSA is responsible for the counselling process for the seat allotment in various IITs, NITs, IIITs and other institutes after the release of the cut- off.
  • The cut-off is released for different categories, i.e. General, OBC, SC/ ST; and the seat allotment is completely based on the All India Ranks (AIR) which is also released along with the result.
  • Merit list of qualified candidates is also released when the cut- off of the examination is announced.
  • Every institute that participates in the counselling process releases its opening and closing ranks.
  • All the IITs, NITs, IIITs and other state-level colleges participating in the counselling release their rank lists individually. They also declare the minimum prescribed marks category wise.

Factors that Affect JEE Advanced Cut Off?

The cut off for the examination is calculated only after considering some of the valuable points. The JEE Advanced cut off for 2020 is based on various factors. The major factors affecting the cut off for the exam are:-

  • The difficulty level of the paper
  • Availability of seats in various institutes.
  • The number of students appearing for the examination
  • Candidate’s performance in the JEE Advanced exam.

About JEE Advanced Cut Off 2020

  • The responsibility of conducting JEE Mains and Advanced Examination for the year 2020 were given to IIT Delhi. So, the cut off will be released by IIT Delhi only.
  • JEE Advanced 2020 examination was supposed to be conducted in the month of May and the cut off for the JEE Advanced 2020 exam was supposed to be released at the beginning of the month of June. The exams and the dates for other processes have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The cut off of JEE Advanced 2020 will be the minimum marks that are required to qualify for the merit list in all the three subjects- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • JoSAA will conduct the counselling for the seat allotment in various IITs. All the institutes will release their rank lists categorically.
  • The Cut off list will contain the Minimum Percentage of Marks in Each Subject and Minimum Percentage of Aggregate Marks.
  • JEE Advanced registration process will start from 1st week of May.
