Devi Ahilya vishvavidhyalay has traditionally been regarded as one of the best universities in Central India. Within the structure of its UTD, the university founded a self-financing engineering institution known as the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET). It commenced its academic journey in 1996 since then has been popularly known as IET-DAVV. The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, University Grants Commission (UGC), and the Government of Madhya Pradesh.

IIT-DAVV currently offers BE programmes in six branches of engineering, ME programs in six specializations, MSc – Applied Mathematics, and PhD programs in all disciplines of BE/ME and other relevant research interest areas.The admissions process follows the laws and regulations of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) in Bhopal.

IET-DAVV Ranking

According to Edu Rand Ranking in 2016, IET-DAVV has been ranked 2nd in the State and 34th position in the country.

Other than that in 2017, DAVV applied for NIRF for the first time and reached the 112th position in the ranking system.

IET-DAVV Admissions

IET-DAVV follows the rules and regulations of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Bhopal.

For B.E.(Bachelors of Engineering)

  • The candidate must have completed 10+2 and appeared for the IIT-JEE entrance exam.
  • Admission process shall take place passing through the College Level Counselling (CLC)

For M.E./ MSc Programmes

  • An applicant for entry to the programme must have earned a 60% (or equivalent) in a BE/BTech (or equivalent) in a supported branch of engineering from a recognized university or institute.
  • Regular applicants must have a valid GATE score in a specific or equivalent branch of engineering or technology.
  • After completing a BE/BTech degree, sponsored applicants should have two years of work experience.

For PhD programmes

  • The applicant must have earned a postgraduate degree in the appropriate field from a reputed institute.

IET-DAVV Placements

There are several companies offering placements to every eligible candidate from the Institute. With 30 recruiters, the percentage of placements can be around 70% with average package of INR 6 LPA and highest package of INR 20LPA. There are several companies for recruiting candidates to the university such as Accenture, Adobe, Amdocs, AtoS, Barclays, Cognizant, CSC, Deloitte, Honda, Capgemini, ZenStar, Bosch, Infosys, NEC, TCS, Snapdeal, FutureGroup, TEch MAhindra, Reliance, Wipro, Prism Cement and so on.

IET-DAVV Scholarships

  • According to AICTE rules, financial aid could be limited to GATE eligible Full-Time applicants.
  • For SC/ ST/ Sponsored applicants, the qualifying requirements are relaxed by 5%.

IET-DAVV Facilities

The Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya consists of a total of three campuses: Nalanda Parisar, Takshashila Parisar and Avanti Parisa. At Nalanda Parisar, you’ll find the Vice-Office, Chancellor’s Administrative Block, Office of Dean-Student Welfare, Printing Press, School of Economics, and Centre of Employment Information, among other things. Takshashila Parisar and Avanti Parisar are home to the university’s other centres, schools, departments, institutes, and central library. Apart from separate computing facilities for multiple departments, the Takshashila parisar has a huge and modern IT centre for all DAVV students, professors, and other university employees.

At IET-DAVV along with a healthy academic environment in its lush green campus, it also provides best possible infrastructure facilities. The campus with mainly 5 blocks amongst which four are for the main engineering departments , Computer / IT block, Civil block, Mechanical block, Electronics block and the remaining one is for administrative purposes.

Other than academic infrastructure, the campus has hostel facilities for Boy and Girls for approx. 600 students with 288 rooms. Cafetaria is also available and always accessible for students as well as staff members. Libraries and Laboratories are also well-facilitated. IET students have daily access to DAVV’s central library, which has over 1.25 million books in the engineering and computer fields. But for this, the IET has its own library of 27,154 books. There are 79 journals and 31 different kinds of magazines. Moreover, Laboratories for practice and experimentations along with subject teaching.

IET-DAVV Faculty

IET-DAVV consists of seven departments, each with its own engineering and science streams and accordingly having Best Faculties for the same for every field. University has a total of 85 Faculty members which include Regular, Visiting, and Adoc Faculty.


Ques. When are the admission process carried-out for B.E. programs?

Ans. For the Bachelors of Engineering, every year, admission is usually conducted in the months of July and August. IET-DAVV follows the laws and regulations of DTE Bhopal and the reservations rules are mentioned thereof.Please visit the DTE Bhopal website on a daily basis.
Ques. What are the options to arrive at IET-DAVV?

Ans. There are two options to reach the IET-DAVV:

  • By Flight: The Road to IET-DAVV from the DEVI AHILYABAI HOLKAR AIRPORT is approximately 15km and 35min away.
  • By Railway: The Road to IET-DAVV from the Railway Station is approximately 6km and 15 min away.
Ques. Is the Internship option available in case of final year of B.Tech programs?

Ans. IET-DAVV offers an option for Internship recruitments by companies instead of for final year teaching and doing some practical application of the learnt subjects in past years. There are some companies that offer internship opportunities to eligible candidates at the beginning of the final year. For the students interested in applying for an internship for the final year in B.E., the institute offers Student Internship Form online through the main website, under the section Academics -> Downloads.

Ques. What is the JEE-Main cut-off rank for the Mechanical Engineering B.E. Program?
