The Government Law College, Mumbai, (GLC Mumbai) is the oldest law school in Asia, founded in the year 1855. Government Law College – [GLC], Maharashtra, Mumbai is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and is run under the control of Government of Maharashtra. GLC, Mumbai offers 5year, 3year LLB courses along with Postgraduation Diploma course in Securities Law, Intellectual Property Rights Law, Postgraduation Certificate course in Human Rights and Diploma in Cyber Law.

3-Year Law Course admission is open to candidates having any Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Mumbai or an equivalent degree from any other University. 3-year LLB is a six semester, full time course. On completion of the three-year course, students are awarded with the LL.B. degree. Students who wish to study the law, rather than to practice as advocates are eligible for the LL.B. (General) Degree, after the 4th semester.

The 5 Year Law Course, B.L.S. LL.B. admission is open now. B.L.S. LL. B is an integrated law course with ten semesters. Admission is open to candidates who passed 12th standard examination from any recognized Board / equivalent. The first and the second year of the five- year course, is considered as ‘Pre- Law’ course. The students completing three years of five-year degree program are awarded the B.L.S. (Bachelor of Legal Science) degree at the end of the third year, and on completion of five years, they will be awarded with the LL.B. degree

GLC, Mumbai invites application to one-year Postgraduate Diploma Course in Securities Law. Admission is open now. Candidate having any Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Mumbai or an equivalent degree from any other University with a basic knowledge of Corporate Laws can apply, till Thursday 27th May, 2021. Online Admission form processing fees of Rs 200/- is required.

GLC, Mumbai offers three months Postgraduation Certificate Course in Human Rights. Candidates having any Bachelor’s degree can apply. A total of 60 seats available. The course will start on NOV 20, 2020.

GLC, Mumbai offers postgraduation diploma in Intellectual Property Rights. It is a one-year course and has a total of 50 seats available. Admission is open to candidate having any Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.

Government Law College, Mumbai also has “Diploma in Cyber Law”, which is conducted in association with the Asian School of Cyber Law.

GLC Mumbai Three-year LLB Admission 2021

Eligibility Criteria

  • candidates having any Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Mumbai or an equivalent degree from any other University.
  • There is no upper age limit for 3-year LLB.
  • Candidate should appear for MAH-LLB-3 CET exam.

Selection Criteria

  • Selection is based on the merit list published. Merit list is prepared by considering CET score or on the basis of merit obtained at the qualifying exam

How to apply?

  1. Candidates are required to apply for CET exam.
  2. Candidates can apply online through the official website of the Government Law College, Mumbai http://www.glcmumbai.com.
  3. Application fees of INR 800 general and INR 400 for reserved categories is charged for CET.
  4. Admission form is also available at the college campus candidates can collect it from office.
  5. Candidates are advised to submit duly filled application form to the college within the time prescribed.

GLC Mumbai five-year LLB Admission 2021

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates who passed 12th standard examination from any recognized Board / equivalent.
  • Candidate should appear for MAH-LLB-5 CET exam.
  • There is no upper age limit in 5-year LLB.

Selection Criteria

  • Selection is based on the merit list published. Merit list is prepared by considering CET score or on the basis of merit obtained at the qualifying exam.

GLC Mumbai Postgraduate Diploma Course in Securities Law Admission 2021

GLC offers Postgraduate Diploma Course in Securities Law Securities Law of 1 year duration. A total of 60 seats available

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates having graduation in any discipline with a basic understanding of corporate laws can apply for the course.

Selection Criteria

Candidates were selected on the basis of a personal interviews which will be conducted online by a panel of experts from the college.

How to apply?

Candidates can apply through google form provided, fill it up and attach Statement of Purpose, photo, marksheet, payment slip and annexure at the relevant places given.

  1. Passport size photo in jpeg format (size not more than 400 KB)
  2. Statement of purpose (SOP) (not more than 500 words in pdf format (A4Size), (size not to exceed 500 KB)
  3. Graduation/postgraduation marksheet or passing certificate in pdf format (size not to exceed 500 KB)
  4. Download the annexure which is available in excel and then fill in the work experience and Academic qualifications. Don’t forget to save the file in PDF format and upload it in google form.
  5. Online payment slip of Rs. 200/- in pdf form or in image form to upload in application form, (size not more than 400 KB (bank details given below)

GLC Mumbai Post Graduate Diploma Course in Intellectual Property Rights Law Admission 2021

GLC, Mumbai offers postgraduation diploma in Intellectual Property Rights. It is a one-year course and has a total of 50 seats available.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates holding bachelor’s degree from any discipline from a UGC recognized University.

Selection Criteria

  • Merit List prepared on the basis of marks procured in Final Year of relevant degree examination, provided that the applicants who have completed graduation from any Recognized University other than University of Mumbai will be admitted on merit basis.

How to Apply?

Admission must be taken by the student in person, by submitting the attested photocopies of following documents: –

  1. Original statements of Marks of Graduation. Candidate who has completed graduation from other than University of Mumbai will also have to submit attested photo copies of the 10th and 12th standard.
  2. Original Caste Certificate for verification (Except for E.W.S., DEFENCE/EX-SERVICEMAN, DISABLED, ORPHAN)
  3. Passing Certificate / Degree Certificate or Both.
  4. Certified copy of document of the date of birth.
  5. Two recent passport size photographs.
  6. The candidates completed their graduation from other Universities admitted provisionally shall be required to submit the additional documents/certificates specified by the University of Mumbai.

Ques. Is CLAT score necessary to join GLC, Mumbai?

Ans: No, it isn’t. GLC, Mumbai admits candidates on the basis of CET (Common Entrance Test) score or on the basis of merit obtained in the qualifying exam, hence CLAT is not necessary.
