Ans. Regional Institute of Education which was formerly known as Regional College of Education is a constituent unit of NCERT (National council of Education Research and Training). RIE, Mysore is a very prestigious institute in the field of education in the area of school and teacher education. It was started with the objective of qualitative improvement of school education through innovative pre-service and in-service teacher education programmes and relevant research, development and extension activities.
