CUK Srinagar Admission 2021 : Dates, Selection Criteria, Eligibility, Application Process

The admission to Central University of Kashmir, Jammu is conducted through CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test). CUCET is a national-level exam where 20 universities participate. CUCET 2021 is tentatively scheduled to release the application form in the 1st week of June 2021. The exam is scheduled to be held in the fourth week of July 2021.

The basic eligibility for admission is for UG, PG, and Ph. D programs respectively are:

  • A minimum of 50 percent in class 12th for general candidates and 45 percent for SC/ST candidates with required subjects
  • The general category’s minimum mark is 55%, while the SC/ST/OBC/PWD category’s minimum mark is 50%.
  • For Ph. D admission applicants clearing UGC-CSIR, JRF, GATE, NBHM, or any national level exams are exempted for appearing CUCET exam.

CUK Srinagar Admission 2021

The eligibility criteria vary for admission in bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph. D. degrees. The basic eligibility criteria set by CUCET is:

CUK B. tech Admission

CUK offers 4 years degree of B. Tech in CSE.

Eligibility criteria:

Applicants must have a minimum of 50% marks in class 12th for General category candidates and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates with mathematics, physics, chemistry as a subject combination.

Selection Criteria:

  • A minimum cut-off mark for each subject will be published through the CUCET website. Applicants during admission have chosen their desirable subjects, if they qualify for the minimum cut-off they can apply for their respective university.
  • The Central University of Kashmir will have its own counseling rounds. Selected candidates can lock their seats. If after 1st round of counseling seats remain free further rounds of counseling will be conducted. This will continue until all the seats of the subject are occupied.

CUK Integrated B. Sc and M. Sc Admission

CUK offers 5 years of Integrated B. Sc and M. Sc in Physics, Mathematics, Zoology, and animal science.

Eligibility criteria:

  • For admission in bachelor’s and integrated B. Sc and M. Sc applicants should have a minimum of 50% marks in class 12th for General category candidates and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates.
  • Subjects required are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, And/ OR Biology depending upon the course applicant is choosing.

Selection Criteria:

  • A minimum cut-off mark for each subject will be published through the CUCET website. Applicants during admission have chosen their desirable subjects, if they qualify for the minimum cut-off they can apply for their respective university.
  • The Central University of Kashmir will have its own counseling rounds. Selected candidates can lock their seats. If after 1st round of counseling seats remain free further rounds of counseling will be conducted. This will continue until all the seats of the subject are occupied.

CUK BALLB Admission

CUK offers 3 years of degree in law.

Eligibility criteria:

Applicants must have a minimum of 50% marks in class 12th for General category candidates and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates

Selection Criteria:

  • A minimum cut-off mark for each subject will be published through the CUCET website. Applicants during admission have chosen their desirable subjects, if they qualify for the minimum cut-off they can apply for their respective university.

CUK offers 2 years of master’s of arts in various specializations.

Eligibility criteria:

  • For admission in Master’s degree applicants should have a minimum of 55% for the General category and 50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD category students.
  • In general, an applicant requires to have a Bachelor’s in the same field or any associated field of the course in which you wish to take a Masters.

Selection Criteria:

  • A minimum cut-off mark for each subject will be published through the CUCET website. Applicants during admission have chosen their desirable subjects, if they qualify for the minimum cut-off they can apply for their respective university.

Eligibility criteria:

  • For admission in Ph. D. degree if applicants have cleared UGC-CSIR JRF, GATE, or qualified in any other National level Exams then they are exempted from appearing in the entrance test but have to register for the CUCET exam.
  • Applicants should have a master’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 55% marks for general candidates, 50% marks for OBC candidate and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidate.

CUK offers two years of M. Tech degree in Information technology (IT).

For admission in Master’s degree applicants should have a minimum of 55% for the General category and 50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD category students in B. Tech (IT).

Selection Criteria:

  • A minimum cut-off mark for each subject will be published through the CUCET website. Applicants during admission have chosen their desirable subjects, if they qualify for the minimum cut-off they can apply for their respective university.

CUK MBA Admission

CUK offers two years of degree in MBA.

Eligibility criteria:

For admission in Master’s degree applicants should have a minimum of 55% for the General category and 50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD category students in any subject/BBA.

Selection Criteria:

CUK offers Ph. D. degree in various specializations.

Eligibility criteria:

  • For admission in Ph. D. degree if applicants have cleared UGC-CSIR JRF, GATE, or qualified in any other National level Exams then they are exempted from appearing in the entrance test but have to register for the CUCET exam.
  • Applicants should have a master’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 55% marks for general candidates, 50% marks for OBC candidate and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidate.
  • The minimum eligibility changes as per the course applicant are applying to. As the main subjects required for each course are different depending upon the course you choose to enroll in.

How to apply?

  • Applicants have to apply through the official website of CUCET. Click on the online application category.
  • Applicants will be re-directed to the login page. If you are newly creating an account and fill in all the required details. Your application number and password will be created. For all future login use these credentials.
  • Log in and fill-up the form. Fill in all the required details (personal, general, academic) and upload your scanned picture and signature.
  • Proceed further by paying the required fees. Submit the application form and take a printout for future reference of both the application form and fees receipt.

Ques- What is the eligibility criteria for B. Voc. Courses?

Ans- For admission in B. Voc. Courses all applicants must have passed an Undergraduate or Postgraduate course in Science/ Social Science/ Humanity with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category).

Ques- Will I be selected at Central University Kashmir if I qualify for the cut-off in my applied subject?

Ans- No, if you have qualified for the minimum cut-off in your respective subject you can lock your seat in any one subject at Central University Kashmir. Counselling rounds will be held by the University authority if your name appears in the 1st counseling list you are admitted to the institution.

Ques- what are the documents required during admission?

Ans- The following documents are required during admission:

  • Qualifying Marks Certificates
  • Class 10th certificate bearing D.O.B
  • Provisional and Character Certificates (original)
  • Category Certificate (if applicable). OBC/EWS candidates are required to submit the latest OBC/EWS certificate in the format prescribed by the Govt of India.
  • Migration Certificate (original)
  • Permanent Residence Certificate

Ques- Are there any hostel or transport facilities available at Central University Kashmir?

Ans- Yes, transport facilities are given to students. The University has established a transportation service for students by purchasing/hiring buses that go on various routes chosen by the students. Hostel facilities are not given for time being due to COVID.

Ques- Do I have to give the CUCET exam for my Ph. D. if I have a qualified UGC NET exam?

Ans- No, applicants who have qualified for a national level examination like UGC NET, CSIR NET, or any other are exempted from appearing CUCET exam. They will be called for an interview directly based on their rank and merit.
