Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences has been accredited with an ‘A’ Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Bhaskaracharya College is affiliated with Delhi University and has also been awarded ‘Star College Status’ by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) in recognition of the introduction of enrichment programs in the curriculum.

A full-time Bachelor of Science Honors program of three years duration in eleven varied specializations is offered by Bhaskaracharya College. The courses currently offered by Bhaskaracharya College in science are namely, Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biomedical Science, Botany, Computer Science, Chemistry, Electronics, Instrumentation, Food Technology, Polymer Science, Physics, Microbiology, and Zoology.

Students must have passed in Intermediate or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Science/Maths as their main subject to qualify for the eligibility criteria for B.Sc at Bhaskaracharya College.   • a) 60% or more marks required in Mathematics;
  • b) 60% or more marks in aggregate of four subjects including Mathematics, one language and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science/ Informatics Practices.
  • Note: Students from other streams with Mathematics in Class XII, will have a drawback of 2 percent in aggregate of the required 4 subjects.
B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry, Physics, Polymer Science
  • a) 55% or more marks in the aggregate of subjects- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
  • b) 50% of minimum marks in the aggregate in English as a. mandatory language.
  • Merit will be estimated based on aggregate % in subjects- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
B.Sc. (Hons.)Electronics/ Instrumentation
  • a) 55% or more marks in the aggregate of subjects- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
  • b) 50% of minimum marks in the aggregate in English as a. mandatory language.
  • Merit will be estimated based on aggregate % in subjects-Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
B.Sc.(Hons.) Food Technology
  • a) 55% or more marks in the aggregate of subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry (Practical & Theory together)
  • b) 50% of minimum marks in the aggregate in English as a. mandatory language.
  • Merit will be estimated based on aggregate % in subjects-Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology /Biotechnology/ Biochemistry. Applicants who have studied both Mathematics and Biology at qualifying exams will be given 3% relaxation.
B.Sc.(Hons.) Biomedical Science
  • a) 55% of minimum marks in the aggregate of subjects-Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry
  • b) 50% of minimum marks in the aggregate in English as a. mandatory language.
  • Merit will be estimated based on aggregate % in subjects-Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry.
  • Note: Students who have qualified in subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry and scored 60% minimum marks in Mathematics in the qualifying exam will be given an advantage of 3 percent over and above in subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology/ Biochemistry aggregate.

Ans: Yes, Bhaskaracharya College does follow a Choice Based Credit System. Various categories of courses offered in Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) are as follows:

  1. Core Course: These course papers are compulsory to be studied by a student of a particular discipline. There are in total 14 core papers distributed among all the semesters of the course.
  2. Elective Course: These courses can be chosen from a pool of courses that may be specific to the discipline/ subject of study or some other discipline/subject or nurtures the candidate’s proficiency.
  • Discipline Specific Elective (DSE): A student has to study 4 discipline-specific elective papers during the course. Two papers each are offered in the fifth and sixth semesters.
  • Generic Elective (GE): Generic Elective is an elective course usually chosen from an unrelated discipline, to seek exposure to another discipline for the students. A core course offered in a discipline can be used as an elective by another discipline and vice-versa and such electives can also be referred to as Generic Elective. The Generic Elective has equal credit as that of the core paper. In the first 4 semesters of the course, the student has to study one Generic Elective each.

Ans: Yes, Bhaskaracharya College does accept admissions under Extracurricular Activities (ECA) and Sports Quota, but due to prevailing public health guidelines and the unprecedented situation of COVID -19 pandemic, admission based on Sports will take place without the conduct of Sports Trial, and admission based on Extracurricular Activities (ECA) would be conducted for the category of NCC and NSS only.
