Bankura Christian College, which is also known as BCC, is a private college located in Bankura, West Bengal. It was established on 29 June 1903, and is affiliated to the University of Calcutta. Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Ph.D., Diploma and Certification courses are offered by this college. Currently, BCC has three departments- Arts, Science and B.P.Ed. It also offers Distance Education facility in the fields of M.Sc. (Zoology and Botany) from Vidyasagar University, and in other departments it is from Netaji Subhas Open University. It is recognised by UGC and NAAC (Grade A). For admission, the application procedure is online. Currently, the dates of admission for various courses are still to be notified.

  • The admission for Undergraduate courses is usually done based on merit, the candidate must pass 10+2 in the relevant stream with a minimum of 50%.
  • For B.P.Ed., the candidates must have an aggregate of 50% in their Bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream.
  • For Postgraduate courses, the candidates are selected based on the merit of their Bachelor’s degree. The minimum requirement for application is 50%.
  • For Ph.D., the candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained in UGC NET.
  • For Diploma and Certification courses, the students must pass 10+2 with 50% marks in the relevant stream.
  • For SC/ST candidates, about 5% consideration in the eligibility criteria is accepted.

The selection procedure is based on the candidate’s marks that are obtained in their qualifying examination.

Bankura Christian College Eligibility Criteria

UG Courses

  • B.Sc. (Hons) : The candidate must pass their 10+2 qualifying examination from a recognised board and belong to the Science stream. They should secure at least a minimum of 50% score.
  • B.Sc. : The candidate must pass their 10+2 qualifying examination from a recognised board and belong to the Science stream. They should secure at least a minimum of 50% score.
  • B.A. (Hons) : The candidates must pass their 10+2 qualifying examination from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% in the relevant stream.They should score at least 45% marks in English and 60% marks in Bengali too.
  • B.A. : The candidate must pass their 10+2 from a recognised board, with a minimum of 50% score in the relevant stream.
  • B.P.Ed. : The candidate must score at least 50% marks in the Graduation / Bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline.

PG Courses

  • M.A. : The candidates must score at least 50% aggregate marks in their Bachelor’s degree.

PhD Courses

  • Ph.D. : The candidates must score at least 55% marks in their M.Phil/ M.Sc degree.

Diploma and Certification Courses

  • DIPLOMA : The candidates must score 50% marks in their 10+2 qualifying examination from any relevant stream.
  • CERTIFICATION COURSE : The candidates must score 50% marks in their 10+2 qualifying examination. They can belong to any relevant stream.

Bankura Christian College Selection Criteria

  • For Under-Graduate courses like B.Sc. (Hons), B.Sc., B.A. (Hons), B.A. and B.P.Ed. the selection procedure is merit based. Usually, the candidates have to score a minimum of 50% in their qualification examination.
  • For Post-Graduate courses like M.A., the selection procedure is merit based. The requirement for this course is a minimum of 50% in their Bachelor’s degree.
  • For Ph.D. the candidates are selected based on their UGC-NET score.
  • For Diploma and Certification courses, the selection is based on the merit of the candidate in their qualification examination.

CUT-OFF:

The cut-off for 2021 is still to be published. If the student’s name is not on the 1st merit list, they can wait for the 2nd or 3rd merit list. The number of seats left after the admission of the previous list decides the number of intake or publication of the next list.
