Urge to Postpone JEE, NEET and Other Exams, #HealthOverExams trending on Twitter

Amidst the alarming rise of coronavirus cases in India, the aspirants and their well-wishers are urging the government to postpone JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020. While JEE Main is conducted for admission in first year Engineering and other professional courses, NEET is held for admission in first year MBBS, BDS, BUMS, BHMS, and other medical courses. NTA has already rescheduled the tests once owing to the pandemic outbreak and the consequent nationwide lockdown on March 24, 2020.

It was predicted earlier that the pandemic fury will ease in July and eventually, the lockdown will be completely uplifted. On the contrary, the situation seems to worsen and the COVID -19 curve is way far from getting flattened. Also, the experts are warning that India will witness its coronavirus peak in July.

Hence, the aspirants are raising voices for this on-going concern. Various online petitions have been signed and the mass is using social media platforms to insist on the government to act upon this. In fact, hashtags like #HealthOverExams, #postponeneet2020 and #postponejee2020 are trending on Twitter. The hashtag #HealthOverExams has received approximately 120,000 messages as of 11:15 PM, Wednesday.

However, NTA has not yet commented on these hashtags going viral. As of now, the exams will be conducted as scheduled. As per the rescheduling done, JEE Main will be conducted from July 18 – July 23, 2020, and NEET 2020 will be conducted on 26th July 2020.
