Acharya Institute of Technology was established in 2000 by Premnath Reddy, chairman of Acharya Group of Institutions. It is a private co-educational engineering and Management college located in Bangalore. Acharya Institute of Technology is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

AIT offers 11 undergraduate and 8 postgraduate courses. AIT admits 50 percent of students on the basis of their rank in the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Government of Karnataka and 30 percent students through the Undergraduate Entrance Test of the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges (COMEDK) of Karnataka.

Acharya Institute of Technology Admissions

AIT offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Admission into these courses will be through entrance exams. For BE the accepted exams are CET and COMEDK, for MTech, GATE, KPGCET and for MBA, MAT and KMAT.

Admission in BE is also done through management quota.

Admission Process of BE

Admissions in the Bachelor of Engineering is done through Karnataka common entrance test, conducted by the Government of Karnataka or Undergraduate Entrance Test by Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka or direct admission.

  • Applications for CET will be available on the official website of the Karnataka Examination Authority(KEA).
  • Qualified candidates appear in open single window counseling along with the documents.
  • Admissions will be done on a merit basis based on the score and their preferences.
  • For direct admission, candidates apply for the programs they want to get into.
  • After filling the form, the counselor gets in touch with and checks the eligibility.
  • Candidates then pay the fees and book their seats.

Admission Process of M.Tech

Admissions in MTech and MBA courses will be through entrance exams.

  • Candidates have to apply for the Karnataka PGCET. The application form will be available on the website.
  • Candidates who have appeared in GATE don’t have to appear in KPGCET but have to register for it.
  • A separate merit list for GATE and PGCET will be displayed by the conducting body.
  • Qualified candidates appear for the counseling process along with documents for verification.
  • The final selection of the candidates will be done on a merit basis as per GATE or PGCET score and their preferences
  • For MBA admissions, candidates have to appear in MAT or KMAT.
  • After securing the score, apply for the institute, and based on the score, eligible candidates get a call for the interview.
  • After the interview, shortlisted candidates get the offer letter for admission.

  • The process for the placements includes a general aptitude test followed by interviews.
  • Aptitude tests consist of computer-based tests. It depends on the company what kind of questions they are going to ask you. The test can a coding test or an aptitude test or both.
  • After the test, a process can involve a group exercise or a group discussion. GD can be on any topic, there are no criteria for the topics to open up during a discussion.
  • Companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys have 2 or 3 rounds of F2F interviews. The rounds can be a group exercise, a technical interview, and an HR interview. In HR, they ask questions to check your knowledge about the company and test you how you are as a person.

In AIT, scholarships are for both undergraduate and postgraduate students based on their performances in academics and their financial background.

A fee concession of 50 % to the first child and 25 % for the second child is granted to households with extremely poor backgrounds.
