JEE Main Important Topics & Chapters which you need to Prepare

JEE Main Important Topics 2019: JEE Main is one of the toughest competitive exam for engineering aspirants. Rather than learning the formulae, chemical equations, steps for some questions and other rotting sections, go for the smarter way which is quick and easy. Every chapter in the JEE Main Syllabus is assigned a weightage of marks. Break down all these chapters in a 3-4 categories, such as most important chapters that carry high weightage of marks, important chapters that carry average weightage of marks and then least important chapters that hold the minimum weightage of marks.

Read the following article to know more about the JEE Main important topics and prepare for the exam accordingly. Here you go!

JEE Main Important Topics

JEE Main Important Topics

First of all, let’s have a look on the exam pattern for JEE Main 2019. The exam will be conducted in both online and offline mode and will have 90 questions of 360 marks spread over three sections- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. All the sections will have 30 questions each and will be of 120 marks each. So, let us divide the important topics into the same three sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

  1. JEE Main Important Topics for Physics

The Physics section contains around 21 chapters and some of the most important chapters are-

  • Oscillations And Waves
  • Rotational Motion
  • Electrostatics
  • Atoms And Nuclei
  • Current Electricity
  • Laws of Motion
  • Magnetic effect of Current and Magnetism

The Oscillations and Waves chapter covers the maximum percentage of questions in the exam, which is around 10%. Other than these topics, we have seen questions from the topics like Electrodynamics, Modern Physics, Optics, etc. in the previous exams. So a student should first start with these topics as these topics have been frequently asked in the previous year papers. After completing these topics, you can pick the easiest topics like Unit and Dimensions, Measurement of errors and vectors. All you have to do is to understand the concepts of each topic.

  1. JEE Main Important Topics for Chemistry

The Chemistry section contains around 30 chapters. As the numbers of chapters in Chemistry are more, you should intelligently divide your chapters. The most important chapters are-

  • Organic Compounds Containing Oxygen
  • Equilibrium
  • Chemical Kinetics
  • Transition Elements (d and f block)
  • s-block Elements
  • Chemical Bonding And Molecular Structure
  • Some Basic Principles Of Organic Chemistry
  • p-block Elements
  • Coordination Compounds
  • Chemical Thermodynamics

The Organic Compounds Containing Oxygen chapter covers the maximum percentage of questions in the JEE Main exam. All the above-mentioned topics are the most important topics, which will be definitely asked in the examination.  After completing these chapters, you should move towards some important chapters – Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen, Redox Reactions, Biomolecules, Electrochemistry, Atomic Structure, Polymers, Solid State, Some Basic Concepts in Chemistry and Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties. After completing these chapters, you can head towards the simpler chapters like Hydrogen, States of Matter, Hydrocarbons, Surface Chemistry, etc.

  1. JEE Main Important Topics for Mathematics

The Mathematics section contains around 25 chapters. This can be the most scoring section but it requires more and more practice. The most important chapters are-

  • Integrals
  • Probability
  • Three Dimensional Geometry
  • Trigonometry
  • Vector Algebra
  • Conic Sections
  • Straight Lines
  • Sets, Relations and Functions
  • Matrices And Determinants

After completing these most important chapters, you should move towards the important chapters- Limits and Continuity, Quadratic Equations, Derivatives, Permutation and Combination, Complex Numbers, Circles, Binomial Theorem, Sequences and Series and Differential Equations.

After completing the above-mentioned topics, you can give your time to the simpler and less important chapters like Inverse Trigonometry, Heights and Distances, Application of Derivatives and Statistics.

These were the important topics for JEE Main 2019; all the students should make a proper subject wise plan to crack the JEE Main exam. Follow the sequence provided here and do a lot of practice, you will definitely succeed in your exam.

Here we are describing topics with their difficulty level for each subject which are as follow:
